Yet more Shortstat tampering
For lack of anything else to fiddle with, I’ve been playing with the layout of my Shortstat page again. I found the small multi-column layout restricting, and (especially when viewed using IE) too often needed to scroll to see all the figures.
I’ve now re-arranged it into a simple two-column layout, with wider columns to ensure all the information is displayed, and relevant tables next to each other – Hits is on the first row, then Platform/Browser information, then Referrers, then resources and search strings, then country/language stats.
It’s a simple matter to change to this layout – just open up styles.css in your favourite CSS editor, and make the following changes:
- Set the .module width to 35% (or whatever width you are most comfortable with – it must be less than 50% if you want a liquid layout)
- Set the widths of .module div and .module div table to 100%
- Delete all the .column CSS declarations
And that’s it!
RSS Feed
In response to a request from If…Else, I’ve now updated my RSS feed so that it doesn’t show up in feed aggregators every time a comment is added.
For details of how to accomplish this, here’s the relevant thread on the Textpattern forums.
