Dammit
I had a post drafted and almost ready to go. It was titled ‘Spot The Difference’, and talked about how it was a pity that, despite bemoaning the cookie-cutter design and lack of art direction on blogs, designers are not willing to put in the extra work to create a new and unique design for their carefully crafted articles. We may spend hours drafting and rewriting a lengthy piece, but we won’t spend an extra hour or so coming up with a different treatment for the heading, or switching the layout around a little?
Unfortunately for me, I left the aforementioned post in draft form just that little bit too long—today, Khoi Vinh announced A Brief Message, where short articles are accompanied by unique designs, deliberately paired together, the one to illustrate the other. It’s brilliant, and exactly what I was bemoaning the lack of.
Dammit.

I’ve been thinking about this too. I decided I wanted to try it somewhere. I even got as far as wondering if there’s a Wordpress plug-in which lets me specify an additional style-sheet for specific posts/pages.
Alas that idea, like so many others, fell by the wayside when I saw something shiny :)
