Was I perhaps foolishly optimistic to take my laptop on holiday with me? Or should I have guessed that a cottage in deepest, darkest Somerset wouldn’t have a phone connection.

Or mobile reception.

Bah.

So I return home, to a mere 300-or-so emails (of which three actually needed any attention), about a gazillion new posts in my Bloglines subscriptions, and I now have 41 open tabs waiting to be read.

Oh, and the new site at work – that was launched on the Friday before I left – went down yesterday evening as well, entailing an unplanned trip into work to fix it.

And my youngest daughter ripped the ‘D’ key off my keyboard last week, making typing even more ifficult than normal.

Anyway, as soon as I get hold of a working Bluetooth dongle, I shall be able to upload some holiday snaps to Flickr (taken with my new phone) in case anyone’s interested; I also managed to get quite a bit done on my reboot thanks to the lack of an internet connection, and generally I feel much more relaxed than I did when I left.
