Simplified Standards logo competition entry

Jun 23 2005

Readers of Simon Collison’s site will know that he recently announced a logo design contest for a new CSS resource site called Simplified Standards.

This week he has unveiled some of the submissions, including my own:

Simplified Standards logo submission

It was my first attempt at logo design (apart from for this site), and I’m quite pleased with how it has turned out. The heart is formed by the two ‘S’s of the name, which are intertwined to indicate that the two concepts are intrinsically linked. The heart is obviously because we all love standards!

I don’t expect my design to be chosen, but it was nice to think about pure design for once and develop different concepts to illustrate the ideas behind the ‘brand’.
